In this Video, The presenter has explained the mistakes which usually happened during Salary Negotiation during Recruiter Phone screen. The first mistake is failing to Anchor which means saying things like Give me the market rate”, “What is the range for this role?” etc.. The presenter has explained that using these phases that you are giving control to the company and instead of this you should know your Market Value which should be based on the Company, role, location etc.. The presenter has also stated that the second mistake which usually happen is to Failing to create open-timelines. The presenter has explained is with some sample examples of closed timelines which is "I will be ready to transition by X-date", In such case it is important to set the pace timelines by saying "I’m open, when I see the right opportunity, I’ll be ready to move, but I’m in no rush”. This usually allow to set the pace and can do interview prep by going through interview process of Tier 2 or Tier 3 companies as practice session before going to interview with Tier companies where interview process take time like Google, Meta etc. The presenter has further explained that the 03rd mistake usually happens when you Tell the recruiters about rejection from other companies so instead of telling always keep things ambiguous. The another mistake which presenter has shared that Accepting the first offer is a big mistake and we should never accept the offer in one go and always keep the timelines Offer to look for competition Offers for Negotiation. The 05th mistake which usually happen when we are only looking for FAANG+ companies because there are very strong mid size companies which Offers huge compensation as they have to compete with large companies, so in that case the presenter explained that we should not restrict ourselves with this.
