Medals used to be solid gold, my grandad won an all ireland, won a medal, then while on holiday and strolling through fields around 50 years later he lost it and couldnt find it again, they made it agin but it couldnt be sokid gold anymore cause it was too expensive so its just gopd plated. 😂
