NEW SERIES!
In this video, I started a save I've been thinking about doing for a while. An attribute-less, moneyball save! I take over at Brentford with the intention of taking them to the top but adhering to my own interpretation of 'moneyball' - a data-driven approach, signing players for low values and raising funds by selling players when big bids are receieved. It's a long one, and we're just getting started...

For anybody doing a moneyball save that relies heavily on analytics for recruitment, here's a super useful/necessary tip (if Clayts didn't go into it already in the video): In order to get the most accurate analytic information from a league, you need to set its detail level of that league at maximum in the settings. Otherwise you're getting analytical data that is not entirely accurate.

i love that clayts went "were doing moneyball its not really how i play but i'm looking forward to it" then immediately goes "maybe we can bring in gyokeres when hes interested" haha never change mate

Hi Clayts, just a little tip for you. In the Mustermann Skin you can click on the little icons next to the bars or pizza chart and select a position. This compares the player to other players that play in that specific position. And it also changes the stats to GK stats if selected ;D

I'm really looking forward to this save. Cheers!

Really fun save, just remember to look at the left side of screen when talking about the bar chart because the data you were analysing to us from your new signings was based on 1 appearence

Had Emegha in my sunderland save, first and only season was PL top scorer with 30, above Haaland. Then Spurs came along and activated the 49m release clause.

This is awesome. I've never done a moneyball save before nor have I really looked into it enough to understand it. A perfect blend of tutorial, entertainment and I like the inclusion of you showing us some matches too. Looking forward to following this journey

This has been an awesome video, I would listen to it like a podcast and watch every now and then. Awesomely presented really enjoyed it. Also are you continuing with this money ball approach, you have been doing very very well work Brentford. The finances have been epic,

Just to build on a previous comment, there is definitely a reason why IRL Brentford remain very active in scouting/recruitment in Denmark. There is a ton of value to be found there, Norway in particular will give you a ton of good players. Markus Solbakken comes to mind. I've been doing a Viking save, just completed my first season. He was my starting DLP, and by first transfer window, he already had interest from Milan, Juve, and Napoli. MV was 2.5m and I ended up selling him for 4m with a loan back to complete the season with him. A lot of talent in Nordic countries and typically you can really find value in the sub-10m range.

Emegha is nuts. He's leading my front line in a Netherlands squad that won the Euro.

About the goalkeeper thing, there is a slot at the top of the right button bar of the data chart section, that shows the related stats for goalkeepers, like expected goals prevented and saves.

I love this! I couldn't commit when I tried it but it was good fun. Signed players I would have never looked twice at if not for moneyball

All the best! Following keenly

I tried this myself a while back and it’s very rewarding when you get it right, but takes so much time when recruiting too!

Now I have what feels like a bit of a cheat code simply searching for players with a Maximum Age of 24 and Maximum Transfer Value of £10m and honestly just that alone I’ve found to be just as effective (for me) but significantly faster! I’d not heard of Luka Topalovic, Luka Vrbancic or Viktor Djukanovic until I did that, now if I’m a club that’s Mid-Table Premier League or lower those 3 are my go-to signings, along with Niklas Hedl, and in 2-4 seasons I can make £30m+ profit on every one of them

Having done a BSCYB save in FM, Blum is a great shout. If he gets minutes he develops rather quickly; did the same in FM23. This is a great vid overall - lovely work!
