Two police officers shot at Philadelphia Fourth of July celebration

Two Philadelphia police officers were shot near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as thousands of people celebrated a Fourth of July concert and fireworks show.

Both officers were in stable condition. Video footage taken close to the scene showed people running from the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and helicopters with searchlights flying above. Police instructed people in surrounding buildings to shelter in place. 

Earlier in the day in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, a gunman on a rooftop opened fire on families waving flags and children riding bikes at a Fourth of July parade, killing six people and wounding more than 36

Of ccourse there are mass shootings and killing of random people on the fourth of July. It is the most favoured American national pastime. Therefore, to do it on a day of national celebration is the most appropriate. Just like we Welsh sing on St. David's Day. The only difference is that in Wales, people survive to sing the next day also.

This is crazy for it really does seem like that guns have more rights for the freedom of choice than the women and young ladies in this country do for sure. It is just insane that the rights for firearms are more important than the rights for women.
