I never really thought about the fact that someone would have to sit down and meticulously plan every detail of Hogwarts since it’s not a real castle. Just one of those obvious things I never thought about 😂.
Mad kudos to Robbie for doing such a fantastic job on designing the castle of our childhoods, can’t thank him enough for that. 🙏

I once read somewhere that when Chris Columbus was editing the movie, he wanted to shorten the reveal of Hogwarts. But, when he showed the rough cut of the movie to John Williams, Williams went away and came back and used Hedwig's Theme to keep the scene interesting up to the part where the camera is pulled back to reveal the castle. I don't remember where I read it. But, I do remember reading that Chris wanted to shorten it and John was able to keep the scene unedited and as magical as it has been for 20 years. I can't imagine that scene being shorter than it is and I can't imagine that scene without John's wondrous music.

I so appreciate this upload; I've never seen these particular shots of the original miniature, and they really demystify some of the details. Now my mouth is watering for shots of the cloisters in the original quad, before they were taken out! Publicly available shots of the original castle are a rare treat. Wish we could see more photos from Robbie's book. His whole team really did a marvelous job of bringing Hogwarts to life. I went to the WB studio tour in 2018 and when i saw the model for the first time I was astounded not only by the size, But also the detail and the fact the castle photographed so beautifully from any angle.
