I'll never forgive Mike Newell for being adamant that Goblet of Fire only needed to be one movie. Imagine if they had committed to doing two movies per book starting with 4 instead of 7

I love the super carlin brothers but they are wrong about prisoner. Best movie in the series and Alfonso almost embarrassed the other directors looking back

i wish they'd have split the 6th film to two parts as well, they missed SO MANY important scenes.... from memory lesson with dumbeldore, to leaving the dursleys with him...
in the seventh and eight film they did a terrible job. they split them in two, and included plenty of scenes that didn't even exist in the books, while omitting the most important ones, with dobby and kreacher, for instance...

Looking back, I bet they wished they had split 4, 5, and 6 too. Personally, I would have loved to see 3 more films, but hopefully, the streaming series will cover most of what was left out of the films.

The films could have been 12 films really - if they had split all the books but the first (which they could have). The issue would have been quality because of the time factor - they would have had to film continuously or the young actors might have aged out - probably could have slowed down after 4 once they were a bit older (they could have played the characters into their early twenties as they all looked young as adults).
