I have this scooter and I love it. One of the greatest balances between power, portability and build quality out there. If you use public transports, this is a great scooter, heavier than this starts becoming kind of a hassle.

SO I am 60 years old, on the heavier side. I bought this Scooter in November to place in the back of my EV. I use it on the days I have to charge up my car at a local charging station while we are waiting for the install of our charger from the manufacturer. My ride to the local station is about 2.5 miles, I usually ride around 16 mph. Since this was my first scooter, I have nothing to compare it too. I got it for the rider capacity. It has lots of torque when you are in the faster mode. I have done 20 mph according to the screen. Unit seems stable and balanced. No squeaks or rattles after 3 months of usage.Goes over cracks, small holes fairly well with an old guy like me on it.

Because it folds it easy for me to take in and out of the car or into the house for charging. It is heavy so if you have a long walk or steps, may not make sense. I do use the regen feature, I think I read somewhere the best you can expect is 4% return. I purchased because of the reputation and the probability that the company will be around in the future.

My only negative is the range, I am getting closer to 18 miles if not a little less on a full charge. Live in Florida, so flat terrain. For me not an issue because of how I use the scooter. I guess I scratch my head on how they determined their range vs real world, While they were correct on speed.

I have the NIU KQI3 Pro and agree with your observations. I think it’s a very good scooter and solidly built.

I have one and I'm super happy. Mine's range is around 40kms, because the speed is limited to 25hm/h (European standards). I live in Portugal. I had a Pro, I did 600km on it, but it broke down, then I exchanged it for a Max, I drove another 600km in 3 months but the store gave me a new one, because the scooter had a problem with the alignment of the wheels with the steering bar. The one I have now is perfect, it already has 100km in 15 days. Super strong, with very good lighting, I use it every day to go to work.

I think it would be pretty good if the KQI series moved into the bird & lime space, I think it would take over! Just like Segway released the GT2 super scooter last year….I can’t wait to see what NIU’s 1st super scooter is going to be. Their NQI/MQI mopeds 🛵 are top notch! 🤙🏾

I ordered this, and the distance and mileage are definitely not what I'd expected, and the same goes for the so-so hill climbing ability. I like the ride quality though, so I'll keep it. Not what was promised, but still a fun ride. Great review btw.

I'm currently looking to upgrade for next year. And this one is in my top 5. The only reason im not pulling the trigger is because it doesn't have suspension.
update: Ordered it. 2 year warranty is nice and 30 day try out - free return. Will give it a go.

How does this compare to the Gotrax G4 Electric Scooter when it comes to hill climb and bump handling? Would you say the NIU is a smoother ride?

I see that you ride both the Okai Neon Pro and this one, the KQi3 Max. Which one you recommend to buy? I currently have the Segway Max 30p that I will be giving to my son. I think you are the only one on youtube that got to review and ride both the KQi3 Max and the Okai Neon Pro. TIA.

Where does the app have a zero start? I thought Niu removed it? I would love to turn that on!

Those 18 miles range in summer probably is 25 miles

Between kqi3 pro, okai neon pro, anyhill um2, nineboot max, and gmax ultra which would you suggest to commute (focused on hill climbs) thank you. (If any other suggestion around or cheaper than this price range would be appreciated)

I'm confused with the range. It's advertised at up to 40 mile range. While I know that is not likely, Can you at least get 25 mile range at a steady pace of 18 mph?

Im confused because their site says this is 25mph

Temperature will affect battery and motor performance. These weren't designed to be used in winter so this review is nil.
