After watching that poor Russian woman have a disaster with this etude in the Chopin Competition today, I am terrified to even practice it. I’m hoping the beauty of the piece will eventually outweigh the anguish of seeing her come unglued in such an important moment. I would probably have run away. Brave woman!

bruh your voicing, clarity is so ridiculously good. Total control. You make it sound like an easy piece. What a beast.

My dad gave me a Chopin book for Christmas and I'm in the middle of trying to learn this piece right now. I don't know if I'll ever get it this good, but thank you for this beautiful example of what it should sound like.

Superb playing Paul, you truly made this fiendishly difficult etude look and sound easy!

That ending where the tempo slows down always gets me.

Got a nose bleed just looking at your fingers flying🤣. Love you and your guidance on your other YouTube clips. Thanks ever so much, a Barton wannabe☺️!

Very nice ... but why do you play 134 while you explicitly write 144 in the headline. BTW 134 sounds better that the hectic 144 ;)

Paul est un surdoué (comme d'ailleurs toute sa merveilleuse petite famille 👪) 🙋‍♀️💝

This is going to my to do list after some hefty practise. Thank you for the etude!

Could it be possible for you to record your interpretation of Chopin's nocturne op. 48 no. 1 and op. 27 no. 2. I've been practicing those two lately and would love to see one of my favourite pianist play them.

why did he add the A bass on the recap in measure 37. I always made it a point that's a major difference in the recap

What's your opinion about Margulis's interpretation?

this piece is harder than it looks... the chromatic scale run on this one forces you to use your 3rd, 4th and 5th finger, opposite to what normal pianist used to run chromatic scales

This was a little faster than 144 actually. More like 147-149. It, later on, slows down to 144. GREAT performance!!!!
