ALL-NEW Dacia Sandero 2021 review: Good news! It's brilliant

Показать описание
Remember when the Sandero was a recurring joke on Top Gear because it was a bit dull? Well, there's an all-new version and it's actually brilliant.

Though, perhaps we should give some context. The Sandero is the cheapest car currently on sale in the UK with prices starting from as little as £8,000. This isn't just some small city runabout either, occupying a similar footprint to the VW Polo and Peugeot 208. That's because underneath it all is the underpinnings of the Renault Clio, so you're essentially buying an extremely cheap car that's built on solid foundations. It's not perfect, but it's certainly a lot more fun to drive than it is to look at.

This may seem odd but I really appreciate that Dacia gave the Sandero smaller rims with bigger tires. I hate this tend of massive rims and rubber band tires as the cars tires are part of the suspension and bigger tires make for a more comfortable ride.

The bi-fuel version is not "awkward" as you put it, as it is basically the petrol version with an extra tank in the spare wheel bay. (The Autogas app is really useful for locating LPG locations).
When you can buy LPG for 57p a litre why would you not buy the bi-fuel. Once you get the hang of filling it, it's easy.
I run it solely on LPG and save lots of money. It's also more powerful and very nippy. It can go over 800 miles with both tanks full. I bought the comfort bi-fuel for £11995 and it's fantastic.
Footnote - I have just driven 355 miles to Birmingham and back on roughly £23 of LPG.
Blackpool trip...749 miles...£55 LPG!

Outstanding car, and I've had my share of bigger, much more expensive cars in my time. On the continent there is also a 16" real alloy option, my fully tricked-out Comfort is, until now, phenomenal value and, dare I say it, fun and satisfying too! Ticks all the boxes currently, why go for more? 15K EUR OTR, so...

I've had the pleasure of a Dacia Sandero Bi-Fuel (Petrol and LPG) courtesy car for the past two weeks. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with it. Fortunately, I am able to buy Autogas LPG locally and it only cost me £25 to fill the LPG tank which gives me a range of nearly 300 miles. My own car costs nearly £100 to fill and I'm lucky if I can get 480 miles out of a tankfull. What's more, the Sandero definitely seems to run smoother and pull stronger on LPG. I've had much worse courtesy cars which should have been a lot better than the Sandero.

Great video, however a minor point we went for the comfort bi-fuel as the bi-fuel is a no cost extra (which I believe you incorrectly said cost more). with it you get additional LPG tank in place of the spare wheel (which most cars have removed anyway). It is the autobox which raises the price of the comfort pack above £13, 000 price point.

I live quite easly in my 65HP Sandero and it’s not the comfort spec but essential. Thanks for the good review, really appreciate it 😉

Test drove this model and specification early December and was satisfied with it enough to order one. Delivery quoted as late as May 22 and no discount on the table such is the market right now. Fair trade-in offer for my current old diesel sealed the deal. 1.0 TCe 90 is a stable Renault/Nissan petrol engine so good value with the 6 gear manual. Although delayed, I expect and demand the specification to be sold to me according to the kit detailed in the brochure with no loss of Apple CarPlay and their basic satnav fitted as standard. Audi tried to mess me about earlier this year but backed down when I threatened to tear up the agreement we had signed and walk away. Same rule applies. BTW it took ages to establish the tyre pressures (f/r) are 32/29psi and recommended top up engine oil is Castrol GTX 5w30 RN17.

best car ive had, defo the most comfy too. took 4 months to arrive, came with the satnav even tho i was told it wouldnt.
just make sure you turn off break assist!! as driving mine a few weeks back 40mph nothing in front of me and the car decided to apply the emergency breaks!!!! thankfully nothing behind either!!
first thing i do now is turn the dangerous crap off. other than that great car!

The absence of lane keep assist is a positive safety bonus in my opinion!

Does the new Sandero have the option for Automatic Climate Control in the UK, as apposed to Manual Climate Control? I have seen many videos with the Sandero that shows it has Automatic Climate Control. But have not seen this option in any of the UK models. They have all been Manual Climate Control. Makes the interia look vey cheap

The original ones can be had for £2500. That's 1 year of payments for a supermini. So drive the absolute snot out of one, don't service it and treat it like garbage. Then, in 4 years time, throw away, rinse and repeat. This model is gonna make a great used buy in 5-7 years time! Thanks for the

What do you think of the new Sandero? Would you pay full price for one or put the money towards financing a more expensive car?
