Fantastic, so much info in 5 minutes. I see this and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment (usually by TFL) both as being common problems that most of us PTs never heard about in school.

I tore my obturator nerve almost 5 years ago and it was EXTREMELY painful. I've had all the symptoms with pain, muscle contractions, atrophy, needles... It took 5 months of intense pain before doctors believed me when I said I thought it was my obturator nerve. I've been on Gabapentin since then and thats only to manage the pain. Nothing has been done about it and its up to me to do whatever I can to try fix it. I will try doing these exercises to help wherever I can.

Thank you so much for this video! For years I have had pain/tightness in both areas that you mentioned in the video and for years I have been hunting for the cause. Your video helped me identify exactly what is going on! Your test was spot on and after I did the flossing I felt such a release of tension in my inner thigh. Thank you thank you

Oh wow, this worked instantly! I've had this pain coming and going for years and yesterday it started again. Today I was looking around the internet trying to figure out what causes it. Found this video, did that exercise and it was an inmediate fix! Thank you!!!

Thank you for these wonderful videos on nerve flossing. I've been through chiro services and physical therapy but they never were able to target the problem. These videos have helped me target the areas and the proper way to stretch them. Thank you so much. Appreciate it and I'm do happy to have found you. Will definitely be sharing your videos

Thanks a lot! Very helpful. I think that my test is positive. I'm wondering if the obturator nerve could also be causing a quite profound sense of restriction/immobility in the glute when descending in a squat? It feels like its deep in the glute and I have a really hard time (close to impossible) breaking in the hip on my right side.

I hurt what I thought was my pudendal nerve after cycling and it’s painful to sit down now. I have done PT but no improvement. Do you think I may have hurt my obturator nerve instead? Thank you!

Hi i have this constant tingling sensation in my inner thigh area which is very uncomfortable and when i do the first exercise i feel pain in my groin area. Does this mean this tingling or numb feeling is muscle related and not nerve related. btw i have had this tingling sensation for a month and a half now because i had an injury playing soccer where i kicked the ball hard before warming up.

I feel a pinching in the upper groin when I lift my leg to put pants on while standing etc. I cannot do this without the aid of holding on to a chair and bending over. Concurrent with this is overall S.I. Pain. Does this sound like it could be this nerve? I am afraid to do this exercise if it could worsen my symptoms without knowing if I am on the right track. This is the only thing that seems to make sense to me but I'm worried about self diagnosing. I would be willing to pay for a more in depth phone consult if it seems like it could be related. Thank you

I hurt myself at work 2 years ago, having all the symptoms of Meralgia Parestetica and something else. But I wasn't diagnosed with anything. Since then, the MP symptoms have decreased, but the others stayed. Severe pain from root to hip, from hip down to pelvic area, but also down my cheek, making it painful to sit. From the root down to the tailbone and to the front, so it affects my whole side with pain and loss of movement. My cheek muscle and my thigh muscle are suffering severe atrify (sorry if not correct, Im Swedish) I finally had an EMG done a few months back and the result came back that obteratorius nerve is dying. No one knows what to do or even understand my problems. They talk about surgery, but the expertise is lacking amongst the local surgeons. I tried the exercise, but I had to stop after 3 times, because the pain increased so much, and it took hours of resting before it went back to the "normal" intensity of pain that I live with. I have issues with movement, I can't be as active as I used to. I can't work, exercise, or be active as I used to. I try to go for walks, but that is also an issue for me. I have talked to hundreds of people within the medical field trying to find someone to help me, but so far, the knowledge and understanding of my problems have been little to nothing. Those exercises in the video, what are they meant to do? Help release the nerve from its entrapment? Do you have any other suggestions on what I can do to help my body heal? Thank you🙏🏻

QUESTION: When she takes her leg out, does she let her foot rest on the floor or keep it hovering above the floor?

What if they symptoms are primarily posterior?

When you do the test is the difference subtle or obvious? I am recovering from severe redicular pain in my leg radiating from the groin and hip area after pelvic surgery and radiation. At first I had to stop going for walks, rest and just do femoral nerve glides and gentle psoas stretches. Gradually I was able to do a bit more. Now I'm able to ride my ebike, a huge help to regaining strength, and walk slowly a short distance but still have inner thigh tightness and trying to walk further even slowly causes swelling of the upper anterior thigh and tightness and burning of medial thigh. Also upper abdominal quadrant pain on the same side. I'm tired of the side pain especially. I don't think my physio is quite right about how to treat this. Progress is slow. 😑

Если после упражнения боль усилилась в области бедра. Это признак все таки проблемы с этим нервом?

I have a parasthesia in my upper inner thigh, basically almost in the groin itself. It feels like a "buzzing" as if a cell phone is going off on vibrate. It's not painful at all, but can be very annoying when it goes on for a while. Could this be from the obturator nerve getting impinged or irritated? Would these flossing exercises help get rid of it? Thank you!

Thank you for the video, can the Obturator nerve cause irritation at all in the big toe (tingling)?
