That's why Spyderco is running it 67 to 70 hrc. I got it just to try rex 121 but the sage 5 is actually a great knife! Watch your blade, mine has finger prints just from touching it

Easy to sharpen and tougher than you tthink. It gets som abuse, dont worry about staples it loves it

Just got that knife, the edge grind was terrible. I re-beveled it and found that this is the only steel that I’ve had to debur by stropping on a diamond bench stone before I go to leather & compound.

As far as I know, the sage 5 is about 68-69hrc, not 70+ like the steel can get, just because it would be too brittle for most use cases and also would be ridiculous to manufacture constantly
