So how does it work? This seems contrary to theory. The upper part of that thread has the opposite twist and thus would just chew up the wood it plowed through and leave a weaker connection. The whole reason we switched over from fine thread wall board screws in the 1980's to using a coarse thread was because the fine threads cut up more fibers in the wood leaving less to grip and thus the connection weaker. This screw has course threads(good) but that upper part would destroy fibers.

Wow.... So looks like someone is set to replace DeckMates. Two differing planes of resistance... is interesting to say the least. Hopefully the composition is top quality. Send me a sample guys.
