have you changed the thermal paste? MSI's thermal paste is often not good.

On GTAV do you have the sliders all the way up (16x, etc.) cuz if you do then that game (and red dead redemption 2 as well) will get well over 60FPS and maybe close to the mid to high 90's.

Did you undervolt and lower turbo ratio? With stock I cannot get those temperatures my cpu hits 95 degrees. Judging from your fps you got turbo ratio to the lowest or mostly disable.

I just purchased the GE75 with the 10750H and 2080 super and was a bit concerned that this CPU could bottleneck the 2080 super (non-max Q in the 17 inch raider). After watching your benchmarks, I am not at all concerned that the CPU will be a bottleneck. I realize it isn’t a straight up comparison because a lot of factors change between the GE 66 and GE 75 - but those games were hardly taxing your 10980 HK - which is only about 8-13% faster than a 10750H (user benchmark).

You’ve helped curb my fears, I just purchased the MSI GS66 Stealth with an Intel i7-10th gen and RTX 2060 and I was really nervous the thermals were going to be awful, but this looks really reasonable, specially for the i9 and RTX 2080 max Q variant. I’d have to assume the i7 10th gen and RTX 2060 will run even cooler, but I could be wrong. Either way I greatly appreciate this video. I hope I enjoy mine!

My only question is have you tried undervolting and testing thermals at all and how bad is the fan noise?

Why would MSI leave out the dedicated number pad as they had them on the gs65, gs75, ge63/65, and ge75?? That's a no go for me. Gotta have my number pad. 😔

Temperatures looking good. Did you modify the laptop in any way? (Repast, under-vault, disable turbo boost) or anything at all? Also, how long were you playing each of these games?

This seems like it’s a lower variant than the 2080 super max q... Notice how it doesn’t go above 144hz in apex, but just sits at 144. I bet not even a 240hz screen. That’s not a demanding game and the 2080s would eat it up.

Must have low TDP. My 7700/1070 combo gets similar frames to a lot of these games at 1440p...and it's nearly 6 years old. I hate that laptop GPU have so much variance in performance.
