Carl Sagan on Reading a Book a Week: The Trick Is...

Показать описание
From the PBS series Cosmos (1980), in which Dr. Carl Sagan examined everything from human language to what life might look like on other worlds, all aboard his “ship of the imagination.”

1 book a week. 52 books a year. With all that new knowledge—all those new perspectives, all those new worlds to be explored on the ship of the imagination—who could you become a year from now? A decade from now? (If you choose the right books, that is.)

This is so depressing... It hurts me inside to think all the books I'll miss out on.

We really need a man like him now in popular media, instead of reality stars.

Now imagine him standing in front of the internet and saying "if I were to read a website a week for my entire adult life I wouldnt have put a dent in it. The internet is vast so its important to read the relavant stuff".

Wish there were more people in the world like this man. The day he died the world really lost someone special.

I don't like this. I don't like this at all. I'm gonna read all the books and no spaceboy is gonna tell me otherwise.

I would reccomend “a mans search for meaning” and “the Noticer” for more begginers in life. But Viktor Frankls book is a must for all of humanity to read. Theres a reason why its on Americas top 10 list of books,

If you read children’s books, you’ll have over a million in an entire adult lifespan!

What makes me sad isn't that I'll die some day, but that I won't be able to read all the books in the world.

This is exactly the video content I would expect from Carl Sagan's YouTube channel.
