Today we discuss why you need a CRT for Gaming. We talk about its advantages and disadvantages. Please let me know your thoughts on gaming on CRT displays and reasons why you still play on them!

I'm someone who is very passionate about video games that I love to play, collect, and discuss/share with others. Occasionally I talk about tech products since I'm a PC gaming enthusiast and I work in the I.T industry.

I'm pretty sure I had that exact same CRT in the mid-2000s but of course, it's long gone now. As a huge retro gamer, I've been on the lookout for a CRT and this video only made me want one more... an awesome video, great job! Great point that the games were actually made to be played on CRTs... so it makes sense to have one.

Its funny, as a kid in the 90s, I never knew or understood what s-video or component cables even were. The console came with yellow, red, and white, so thats what I hooked into the TV and never thought twice about it looking inferior…. But now as an adult in my mid 30s, i am very happy using ps2 with hd retrovision component cables and s-video for the n64… and they look vastly superior

More to the point of this video though, man how crazy technology advances. My first TV was a 13 inch black and white TV that I hooked up an NES to via RF adapter. 36 years later I'm hooking up Series X and PS5 to a 55 inch LG C1 via HDMI 2.1. We used those Sony Trintrons for video editing when I was in the Marines in the late 90's, haven't seen them since, lol.

Much to my wifes ongoing pain i have a good amount of decent sets stockpiled.

Had one of the massive late trinitrons with hdmi in the back of my truck but was unable to find anyone crazy enough to help me unload the set.

Went to my local Target today and walked out with a Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Xbox One X. I literally have never seen one of these things in the wild let alone at retail price... just in the glass at my Target... (they also had 3 PS4 Slim's which i haven't seen new in like 2 years...) I didn't even hesitate to make me credit card cry and snatched it immediately. Just thought you'd appreciate that pickup, haha 😄

My sister used to have a CRT TV (which was the only TV she had at the time, it was hooked up to a digibox, which allowed her to watch digital TV stations on it)
And one day she asked me to take a look at it as there was no picture
After bringing round a DVD player and a scart cable, so that i could be sure it was the TV itself and not the digibox or the cables (the only input on the TV apart from RF was a single scart port)
Sure enough, the problem was with the TV itself, although weirdly it wasn’t the picture tube that had failed, as the on screen display still worked, and the TV still displayed static on the analogue TV channels (there was no aerial connected, and I didn’t bother connecting one as analogue TV has long since been turned off)

I want one but I feel like it's impossible to find one! Where do you recommend because finding a trinitron on FB marketplace has been an endless torture cycle and I just wanna play MGS

I have bought two to only end in dissapointment. Age is affecting the TV's. TV repair shops won't touch them either. The 32" Trinitron is about 220 lbs. Good luck gentlemen.

I found a crt apex model at2708 with just s-video and white and yellow component hook ups and my nes looks better then hooking it up on my hdtv with components to hdmi. Lol i was amazed!! 😮😂

Interesting, I'm good my PS3 has most of games that I used to own back in ps2 days on hd like Jax and daxter ratchet, sly Cooper god of war etc. Also like you mentioned the space is a huge issue for me, so I'm happy whit what I got

Good video, but considering writing yourself a script. Every sentence seems to have several "uh"'s ... In casual conversation it's normal, but 15 minutes of it in a YT video is kind of sticks out more.
