Hello Freya, I have been taking voice lessons at different times over many years with little to no progress. I am currently with a teacher but he never really stressed on the most important aspects. A few days ago as I was driving and singing one of my favorite Beatle songs I began to become aware of something. It was the vocal chords, I discovered that they have to be mobile and flexible with varying degrees and proper tension. I got home grabbed my guitar and started to sing and focusing on the sensation inside my throat with relaxation all around my neck. This made a big difference in my singing and sister hear me and commented and said that that was the best she has ever heard me sing. It then became evident that my teachers were putting the cart before the horse by giving lots of exercises to do but without the proper tech. for doing them. I went to you tube as I have done many times, but this time I used the key words. PROPER VOCAL CORD TECH. FOR SINGING. Your videos showed up and you are by far have given the best lessons I have found. You have put the horse before the cart and really showing and explaining good and proper tech. Thank you for putting these lessons on youtube.
