***BLUE ANGELS #7 TAKE OFF AND M.A.A.S. TEST

Blue Angels #7 stopped by Youngstown (Ohio) Air Force Base to test the M.A.A.S. (Mobile Aircraft Arresting System). Shortly after the test #7 left Yng for a meeting at Hopkins International Airport concerning the 2012 Cleveland National Airshow. The MAAS is within 70 miles of Burke Lake Front Airport where the airshow is to be held. It is there for any emergency that would require an arresting cable. This is the closest MAAS to the airshow, it's within 70 miles. This is a requirement for safety reasons. The MAAS is simply a land based version of the arresting cable used to recover aircraft you see on today's modern aircraft carriers.

It's a MAAS guy. Red Horse was there to install it and they told my dad (SMSgt) that it was a MAAS. Red Horse knows what they're talking about.

Well it appears I misunderstood what I was told. It is a BAK-12. Sorry, I could have sworn my dad told me MAAS.
