Pause at 0:59. The Horizontal Stabalizer Fins are on fire. Hopefully that C-130T made it out of the clouds in one piece. Heard the Blues are switching over to a C-130J, 6 F/A-18E's, and 2 F/A-18F's sometime in late 2020/2021.

First question. Why was there a need for a "rolling" start before the IMO the 8 bottles of JATO were sparked.
Second question. with a Marine Corp caveat of anticipation that I'm likely wrong. who's fixing the tail section?

Imagine the pilot igniting the boosters right when the aircraft start to accelerate, she will only need a few hundreds meters of tarmac to take off! But I guess that's not allowed as it's too dangerous to do so.

Seriously, is that safe? Looks dangerous. Looks like a pretty big explosion at first followed by a big phosphorous burn. Like solid rocket boosters but so close to the fuselage. Looks like that could mess up one day and then there will be an accident. They live dangerously anyway right?
