I just love creative fire flower transformations. Each time a new character or type of enemy is created and presented, I always would want to see the fire transformation. So now I want to see fire versions of these balloons.

You missed an opportunity for a joke on the scene at the final staircase - Mario could have bonked against the wall of the step and slid down one at a time, similarly to Super Mario 64, and got caught by the Plant at the bottom.
