Are you curious about keratoconus symptoms, Are you curious about what the vision is like for people that have keratoconus or irregular astigmatism? Keratoconus is an eye disease that causes the cornea of the eye to thin and bulge, like a cone shape. This can cause unique visual symptoms including: Blur in all distances, Streaks of light especially at night while driving, ghost images including triple ghost images, rapidly changing vision and increasing blur, difficult clarity of vision with glasses or normal contacts, and sometimes even light sensitivity. Irregular astigmatism caused by keratoconus can be tricky to get clear vision, but there are many options out there for clear vision, like scleral contacts.

The best visual representation I've seen of keratoconus so far.

I find it difficult to describe this condition to people unaware of it

Thank you so much for this video, I can finally explain to my family how I see, I’ve just had cross linking done, which actually didn’t end up working for my eye because it is just to far gone, but I really appreciate this video makes it so much easier for people to understand, crazy how accurate you made this, well done.

I had cross-linking done in 2021 and I see a cornea specialist in a couple of weeks to get contacts (I'm so excited). This video explains it well. I'm so happy you explained what it's like driving at night. I've tried to explain this to friends and they acted like I was lying. Safe to say they're not my friends anymore.

I'm happy I found your channel. I suffer from both keratoconus and a irregular astigmatism. I have had two cornea transplants over ten years ago. My eye sight have approved. My only limitations I can never drive. Good video

So helpful how you illustrated the streaks that people see when they have kerstoconus. Loved the special effects!

I’m trying to decide whether or not to have a corneal transplant. You just gave me more information than 2 different doctors.

i too have keratoconus, 2021 has been my busiest year...
C3R left on March, C3R right on September, Rose K2 lenses on December and multiple checkups and visits in between those.
Now with Rose K2, my vision isn't 100% clear just about 70 - 80%, hoping for improvements in upcoming years.
And yes your demonstration will be very helpful to answer many questions, coz it's very difficult to show people what a keratoconus patient actually sees
Thank you 😊

I was just recently diagnosed with keraticonous and have been watching a ton of videos on cross linking, and keraticonus in general and this is 100% true.

Happy World Keratoconus Day!
Yep, all of this is true! My ghost images are different between my right and left eyes so that's fun! 😅 I compare my glasses to a loaded baked potato, they have prism, progressive reading and transition!

I started having worsening astigmatism in my mid 20s and ended up seeing a specialist who diagnosed me with Keratoconus and congenital cataracts at 29. I was told I'd likely go blind by middle age if the kerataconus kept progressing, but it's been stable now for about 5 years and I'm almost 53 now.

Mine was caused by being an extreme premie baby and from having spent 2 weeks in a pure oxygen incubator in 1971 (they don't do that anymore because it causes vision loss.

I had surgeries to remove the cataracts but the keratoconus is difficult to treat. So I wore glasses for 20+ years. Now I'm so thankful to have found eye doctors who successfully fitted me for scleral contact lenses. The process took nearly 3 years to fully dial in the fit and I still have to wear readers sometimes.

Every day my vision doesn't worsen is a gift!

Thank you for this video. I have had 2 corneal transplants (almost 30 years ago) and currently wear Sclera contacts. I was able to share this video with others to help them to see how I see.
