Mr. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another fantastic video/lecture on How to Factor Difficult Quadratic Equations in Algebra Two/College Algebra. The oldest method that's known to the human race is the Quadratic Formula, however there is a trial-and-error method that can be used to factor difficult equations in Algebra One/Two.

this is useful if calculators are allowed, I have a final that doesn't allow calculators and we need to finish in a small amount of time

First step should be 3(4x^2 + 81x - 63) no?

It’s -b plus or minus the square root of b squared - 4(a)(c) all over 2a.

Your original answers + 3/4 and -21 @ 3 min 44 sec were the correct answers. If u plug either number back into the equation it will equal zero.

we call it shree dharacharya method. I can be derived by using completing the square method

if you factor the equation like 3(4x^2 +81x- 63) it would be easy to factor, it will be 3(4x^2 + 84x -3x -63) => 3( 4x(x+21) - 3(x+21) => 3 ( 4x-3) (x+21) . smth like this

Hello Mr. Organic Chemistry tutor this method is too lenghty for many competitive exams and will consume a lot of time. Is there another way to solve these problems??

4:25 how'd u get the 3? I mean if i were given a harder equation, how will i determine what to multiply to that part of the equation?

You can factor out a three and is not hard to factor after that

I am solid at math. Rolling through some of the maddest calculus classes with ease. Until I run into 5890x^2+4590x+800... Have to factor this for a partial fractions integral.

4:27 how can you add a 3 to it? Where did you get 3? You've been very helpful btw its just I don't get why you added a 3.

It's more easy if u simply take out the lcm of the product of a and c
