Recovering fentanyl addict speaks out about dangers of the drug

Crystal Long does not look back on her mid-20s with great fondness. She says those years were filled with lots of drugs. Perhaps nothing was more potent than fentanyl. The drug is similar to morphine but significantly stronger, according to law enforcement.

"All of your problems go away," Long said. "It's like a tingling feeling from head to toe. You're calm. Nothing else matters. There's nothing else around you."

Long said she depended on fentanyl. She used so often, she overdosed more than a half dozen times. Long said she should have died.

So far this year, there have been 17 overdose deaths in Washington County. The final number may exceed the 20 overdose deaths counted in 2020.

That beautiful calm and relaxation, I overdosed around 4 times, I'm 6 yrs clean but I want life I crave it everyday, I was also on morphine, ambien valium but it was switched up alot at my former pain clinic. I was in the hospital and had to get my appendix removed. Over the span of a few hours, they gave me fentanyl for the pain.

It almost instantly took all the pain away. And I was like a 10/10 pain before. I totally understand now how addicting this can be

This shows we have another crisis at large DEPRESSION. Yes some do it out of boredom but most do it to escape the constant feeling of depression, anxiety or other undiagnosed mental illness 😕 it's a quick fix

According to " law enforcement law enforcement. The addict has the experience not the cop. They know only a fraction of this poison. And it's the recovered addicts that will pave the way for others the recover successfully. This isn't an understood problem and is not being addressed through the proper avenues. Sometimes old problems may become today's solution. An open mind is not closed.

The only thing that got me off of fetty is methadone. The only thing that helps with the cravings. The cravings for fentanyl are unbelievable.
