There are so many guitarists in the world with amazing technical ability as evidenced by YouTube, but how many of them can write original compositions that move people and stand the test of time? This is what separates guys like Vai and Satriani from everyone else.

A conversation between the two was once published in Japan's Young Guitar Magazine. I think it was in the 90's.
During that conversation, Steve said, ``I'd like to co-produce an album together someday. I'd like the title to be ``Sea of Emotion.'' They said that in their hometown where they spent their childhood, there was a vacant lot called Sea of Emotion.

Joe Satriani has got to be the best guitar teacher of all time. He taught Steve Vai of course Steve has a tremendous amount of natural talent but he still deserves credit. Cool song! I love listening to these guys play especially with each other. I was born in 73 and I’ll never forget hearing these guys and EVH for the first time. These guys are the reason I started playing guitar and I’m still playing. Thanks guys for inspiring my whole life.
