Joe’s greatest tune ever is actually the song ‘Why’ from extremist and its rarely ever covered by others because its so unique. Its literally a Guitar singing … and i have only heard it live a couple times. Masterpiece!!

Satch has contributed so much to rock music both as an artist and a teacher. I read recently about Laszlo Ratz, a Hungarian mathematician who taught so many students who became Nobel laureates and leading physicists and mathematicians. That's the influence Satch has had on his art, not only teaching Vai, Skolnick and Hammett, but writing and recording Surfing with the Alien, which is hands down the best instrumental guitar record of all time.

I met Steve Vai at a cookout when I was about 12 (1988?) years old and he signed my copy of Passion And Warfare. Super nice guy. I'm in my late 40's now and will always remember that day. Still have that CD too.

I lost my beloved father recently and I find myself comforted by some of the parts of my life that continue to exist despite all the change in life. For this reason I feel so comforted that these beloved individuals of my musical life are still here and still friends. Just wonderful.

Love both you guys man. You're both the reason I picked up the guitar. I remember I heard Flying in a Blue Dream and For The Love of God around the same time and both your styles of music did something to me. I knew I had to learn guitar after that. The crazy part was, I had no idea you two knew each other or that Steve was your student at one time, not until years later. But I just wanted to say thank you to you both for all of your amazing and beautiful music. It got me through alot of hard times in life, and also, made the good times even better. And i liook forward to much more from you both. ❤🙌
