Some real muppets in your comments. People who can't grasp that games ina shared world, or with a shared theme, don't have to be mechanically the same, or even similar. "They shouldn't have called it Cryptid, cos it's not the same as the last game wah wah". SMMFH. The Tempest series from AEG would have really upset these people.

Weird shop question, perhaps, but I was wondering how you film your games from a top down perspective without having the game boards shine from the light.

Bit of a weird one, I couldn't quite understand how the movement worked and how to visualize where the Cryptid is. I think I prefer the original Cryptid multiplayer game :D

Thank you for the video, guys. Great quality as always! I love Cryptid but I gotta admit I'm unimpressed by the gameplay of this new incarnation. It feels more as an abstract than a deduction game.

Thanks for the play through! I love Cryptid but this one’s not for me. Seems like the name is the only thing it shares.

This really reminds me of Mr. Jack in the balancing of the board, but without the deduction element of figuring out which character they are. The push/pull of whether the cryptid/Mr. Jack wants characters in light or dark or in this case is going for certain colors or numbers is the tactical meat of the game. That seems like the whole game here though, while the deduction of which character they are added more to Mr. Jack. Have you played Mr. Jack and do they feel similar to you?

Cryptid is a great game and this seems also fine, but it should not have the same name. When it was announced, I got excited and wanted to buy it, because I like the logic deduction. But this game seems to focus on calculating and planing ahead. This is fine, but when you expect a 2 player version of cryptid, it can not hold the expectations. So for me it is bad marketing. Sure it will get more people interested, but when you create expectations and cant fullfil them, it leaves a bad impression.
Still I like your gameplay. As always it was fun to watch :-)

I’m not sure this has anything to do with cryptid. Weird.

Hmm seems like a interesting little strategy game... But that being said, as someone who loves the orginal cryptid I really don't think they should have named this cryptid.

I was hoping for a really cool small box deduction game. Something like Mind Mgmt in a small box or something like that.

But instead I got this weird strategy game, which is a bit of a turn of...

They also probably lost interest from a lot of players who might like this kind of game but dont like deduction games just because they probably will see the name and be like meh I don't like deduction games this isn't for me.

Anyway im a little disappointed but thanks Monique and Navine for covering! As always, really well explained.
