Cliffe Knechtle - The Gospels Are Extraordinary

The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Mark 16:1-4: When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of [a]James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, they *came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 Looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.

...it’s called pride. Pride pushes man to reject God because we all have fallen short and love our sinful ways too much that any talk of Jesus’ sacrifice brings about a conflict within us of how much we “stand to lose” in not being able to carry on in sin. When we accept God exists, it brings about moral responsibility for our actions and accountability to God. The sadness in it all is that a man we never knew, gave himself up for us “while we were yet sinners” and what we should be doing is having an honest, open mind...enough to read at least the book of John, and see all we stand to gain in his grace. God bless you both for the amazing work in bringing the Good news to many young people, in this immoral world, they need it more than ever...we all do! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

The tomb was closed according to Mark, Samuel apparently reports on the gospel, and extraordinary claims somehow automatically require extraordinary evidence. Got it.

I love it how Cliffe absolutely destroys these kids arguments with sound reason and logic.

He mentioned Samuel hahaha, shows how much he knows the bible, he also just talks but doesn't show any scriptures to back it up

You can harmonize some of that account, but we know why they aren't carbon copies.
1) Eyewitnesses tell you what they remember & details won't always match, just the main narrative.
2) The Gospels have specific goals in how they are told. Some are grouped by what happened & others by chronological order. There is compression of some events in some, not in others.
3) The focus is different. Some want this aspect, others had other intents & tell it from another. Mark is Frank for instance.

In the end, the question is not how many people are at the tomb, but was there an empty tomb? Still, if I report 1 woman & you 2, there could be 2 women or 2 visits. One where the stone is rolled away & one where you talk to a gardener. The bottom line is, was there an empty tomb, not did the Gospel writers have different ways to give an event. If it was all the same, you would say they copied each other. If it was like it is, you dismiss over minor points that may not be 100% accurate, but don't impinge on the point. If all you want is a reason to deny, there is always one of those, about anything.

Christ was crucified. Christ died. Christ was entombed. Christ rose on the third day. That is all you need for this Miracle & any additional details you can get from the Gospels as history is great, but not needed.

I don't have to prove the Gospels to you especially if it is just a goof. He didn't want the truth, just to poke at you. Paul talked about that. It is still foolishness to the gentiles as a whole & blasphemy to the Jews. Many gentiles are like Pilate. 'What is truth?' & they walk out.

When all else fails just keep laughing and trying to mock your opponent to descredit them. Then feign that you weren't taking things seriously.

When you 'seek' your own narrative.

It simply isn’t a faith decision to trust somebody it is a trust decision. Putting your faith in god means that with no good evidence you believe he created the universe and all things. No man that I know of has that faith in their wife, they trust their wife. This word play is the deceptive way that apologists trick people .

The Mark statement the kid made was COMPLETELY FALSE. “But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I have never encountered any evidence whatsoever that substantiates the historicity of Jesus as depicted in the gospels.

So many people are dishonest about the gospels it’s scary. They so bad want to discredit “TRUTH” so they have excuse to live there wicked sinful lives with nothing to counter it that it’s WRONG.

It's funny how an atheist knows more about your book than you do. There are loads of contradiction about the resurrection in the gospels.
