I thought I'd explain how for 5 years I have not paid for a TV licence. I have had no drama, no threats and no door step arguments.

You shouldnt have to opt out and fill forms in every 2 years you should opt in not have to continually have to opt out

I have just cancelled my licence. I found I wasn't watching Live Broadcast TV. So I'm going to save myself £155 this next year. I'm with you and doing it legally.

The biggest insult is half price licence if your registered blind

If they want you to pay a fee for their services, they should charge for a subscription (like Netflix for example does). Not put their content out there for free and threaten you with a fine if you dare watching it without paying the license and compelling you to prove your innocence every 2 years

They still send someone round to check so they obviously didn’t believe your original declaration, means they assume your a liar and dishonest and that’s why people hate them.

I have never paid and I never will. The BBC are big enough and rich enough to pay for themselves. In this day and age, it is absolutely shameful that they are still demanding money.

The 'detector' vans are empty vans and always have been, Only designed to scare people into buying a TV licence. I haven't had a TV for 20 years but still get letters demanding that I confirm that I don't require a licence. What other business would dare to contact you and demand to know why you don't use their services anymore, 20 years down the line?

Hmm. Pay £150 for BBC, or £200 for cheap broadband and get your content online, and also the internet at your feet. If you're working class and haven't many funds I'd choose Internet.
