We live in an age of protest. On campuses, in public squares, on streets and social media, protestors around the world are challenging the status quo. But while protest is often necessary, is it sufficient? Eric Liu outlines three strategies for peacefully turning awareness into action and protest into durable political power.

Protests are very important in our society, because without people showing that they truly care, nothing will get done. People have to show their willingness to fight for what they want.

Funny how when Ted-Ed promotes clear, rational thinking, people say that they are just promoting Left wing agendas. Shows how backward the right really is.

This might only work in countries like the US. But in countries decimated by the US and/or western imperialism in general, a protest or a vote can only do so much and are not the only solutions for change. To be able to get rid of the damage and exploitation of western imperialism in these countries, a revolution must be formed and armed struggle is necessary.

Change could only be achieved if power and control is given back and remains solely to the masses.

I think the most important part here is that first one, "what is possible" and who defines what is and isn't possible.. I believe that we're too easily and far too quickly giving away all of that power to people who we're all led to believe are quote on quote "Experts" on this and the reigning authority on this.
