Gas stations are closing in Norway….Norway is a microcosm of what the world will look like in the near future. They adopted EVs faster than any other country.

Sam, there is a convenience store chain in the US, mostly in Texas but they are expanding, called Buc-ees. Their stores usually have the cheapest gas in their local area and make almost no profit on gas. Here's the kicker though, they make around 35% profit on in-store sales. The stores are much larger than the typical convenience store and are always packed. Some Buc-ees store have well over 100 gas pumps. I expect as EVs become more prevalent, Buc-ees will change some of those pumps over to EV chargers. That will also improve their profit margin as EVs generally take longer to charge than refueling an ICE car. Customers will spend more time in the store and spend more money on that 35% profit stuff.

Just when I thought I was done subscribing to tesla Youtubers now I find myself enjoying your take on things.

Keep up the great work

Mega pack expansion at charging station locations could become local electricity providers
- Megapacks capable of supporting 300 charge stations could be expanded to support 50K nearby homes
- Redundant connections between mega-pack stations would ensure high availability
- Connected homes would have ability to draw power from the legacy or "Tesla grid"

One of your best videos so far, Sam! Agree with you in most points. Greets from Germany, where I hope to get my Model 3 next week ✌️Sven

Currently traveling across the US in a Tesla again. I’ve noticed lots of new supercharger stations and interestingly many of them are at gas stations. It seems at least some of the franchise owners are seeing the writing on the wall and making deals with Tesla. The advantage to them is that they traditionally make most of their profits on convenience store sales, not gas. The deal looks good to me as Tesla provides the chargers and the franchise owners provide the land.

There's a reason why Tesla doesn't need to spend on marketing. It's because their products are so good, their customers sell for them. In saying that, I hope they stay on the cutting edge and not become complacent.

Great show. I just purchased 125 shares of Tesla. I am truly looking forward to a Tesla world. They’ll dominate just about every market they enter

I love all your new battery videos. It seems like there is a new breakthrough every week. Then we hear nothing about about it. I wish someone would put together a speardsheet will the battery data in one place such as cost/kwh, cycle life, manufacturing cost, raw material availability, kwh/l . kwh/kg. I am sure there are lots more items on the list. Then you could pinpoint where the weakness of new battery is.
You are a good candidate since you have read all of the sources. Thanks for you videos I always watch them.

$430 billion revenue for USA electricity
$ 66 billion revenue for Australia. est.
When all electric world x5fold bigger.
Fossil fuels are for raw materials only and war fighting and emergencies.

Tesla is building the new electric world.
The existing grid is perfect with enough battery capacity.
Renewables need grid and EV storage.

Tesla is saving the world from the extremes of nuclear power generation and proliferation and massive grid overbuild and the environment, the climate destabilisation at minimal cost to the world.
Good work Sam.

Supercharger stations, if they have a megapack on site, give Tesla a huge opportunity for electricity arbitrage while expanding their car charging network. Add enough solar panels and Tesla can be a power producer, selling the power at retail to EV drivers and gradually generating enough to compete with utilities. Once again Elon sees the opportunity while the competition runs around like headless chickens.

Smartest thing Musk did along the way is prepare for inevitable anti-trust fights.

If Tesla pulls of even half of what’s planned over the next decade, then they’ll bury almost all other car makers, delivery services, power companies etc. The genius is that it’s impossible to claim monopolistic practices when Tesla has: 1) Open sourced its patents, 2) Offered to license its software to competitors, 3) Offered to partner with OEMs on the supercharger network, and 4) doesn’t engage in lobbying or anti-competitive litigation concerning trademarks or copyright.

Tesla already has a massive target on its back, and that target will grow massively if it becomes the largest company in the world (revenue, profit, volume, market cap etc). Lawyers, however, will have an impossible time proving anti-competitive behavior given the steps Tesla has taken to *HELP* their competition.

Nice shot of the Madonna inn charging station in the rolling shots of charging stations the one with large stone features. We stopped on rout to the recent Fully Charged show in San Diego. Aptera unavailing was amazing it's a piece of art & beautiful the Canoe was also impressive. I guess I like the unusual. Cheers from Northern California!!!

I agree, the huge Tesla energy business potential is overlooked by all the analysts in WS. They only see their past quarterly energy revenue and profit numbers.

As I was enjoying yet another spot on analysis from you, Dear Sam, I kept thinking a phrase that I had to look up to verify the exact meaning…

Fait acompli : a thing that has already happened or been decided before those affected hear about it, leaving them with no option but to accept it.
(From New Oxford American Dictionary).

Kinda apropos, huh? 🤔😁😂

In general, no one wants to stop Tesla in the US. It's just Bill Gates.
We need a common EV connector, some standards.

I’m so glad that all of these large conglomerate companies are being disrupted by anyone, including Tesla! I’ve long known that there are better solutions and ways to achieve goals than what has been offered by the status quo. Tesla is proving that fact and I’m happy that someone finally has taken the initiative to put an end to this stranglehold! If Tesla and Elon become the biggest and richest by offering a better solution, more power to them. Others can do the same if they choose to. Thanks Sam.

Buying power from the Utilities and selling it back to them requires a MASSIVE investment in the storage and distribution infrastructure to accomplish that. But Tesla's 'Virtual Power Plant' model, comprised of Solar Roof Tops and Power Walls, ALL Paid for by their customers but MANAGED by Tesla is absolutely BRILLIANT. THAT is the true future of the energy grid in the U.S.

great vid!..but where is all this electricity coming from?..Here in the US we need more generation and infrastructure...
