Dillon worked as a fight animator in RWBY and it really shows in the Studio's animations.

I specialize in this kind of 3D work. So I know first hand how hard it can be to do in Blender the way things are right now.
This update to Blender will be a paradigm shift for NPR.

It doesn't have anything to do with Spiderman. It's just anime getting more and more popular internationally in the last 10 years. So it makes sense that specifically anime style animation is getting more popular with new animators who watched anime. Oh and Genshin Impact and all these gacha games that came after it probably contributed to the popularity massively. I have already seen some anime studios using Blender for 3D stuff in their anime years ago, so it's gonna be interesting to see if even more of them try using it now.

This is advantage of Open Source. No one can fork maya or max and give back the advantages of the fork to the original software. So maya and max retain their bad npr workflow ^^

Even with Cycles you can create non-photorealistic renders, just gotta screw with the material nodes, and maybe also geometry nodes for some more advanced tricks. In many ways it's a similar situation to the history of doing cartoony 3d animation; people got stuck thinking too rigidly and not exploring what the tools can do if you use them as an artist instead of just cargoculting. Not saying there aren't easier ways to achieve certain things; but you can even do painterly, cell-shading, outlined etc in Cycles. Even the demo clips shown here don't look impossible; but yeah, maybe they do turn out to have a more streamlined way of achieving those kind of results.

Blender is really getting to the peak of OSS better than the so called oss game engine

So do we need to install something or do we need to wait for an update?

Is there a way to achieve the same in Unity? Because doing all the work and having stuff look nice in blender and then not being able to have those visuals in Unity...

Live the style and animation but i puke a little every time a character is over animated. It's like eating the best pizza in the world except the chef is shoving it down your throat instead of serving it in tasteful slices.

Really not feeling this style of npr anime. I don't think it is done well at all. If it is supposed to look traditionally illustrated they have fallen very short. It really really doesn't. If they could get it to look as good as Arc System Works then they'd be onto something.
