Hey friends, this one was fascinating! It's New Atheism vs. New Theism, atheist vs. ex-atheist... who also happen to be friends! Richard Dawkins vs. recent convert to the Christian faith Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Dawkins came to scrap but who really won the exchange? Let's find out! :)

I wasn’t expecting Ayaan to destroy Dawkins because she is a new Christian and has a lot to learn. She did better than I expected. When she said that she could see things that Dawkins couldn’t see, she disarmed him because there’s no way for him to criticize that from an empirical perspective. She did manage to convince him that she is a genuine Christian. I think she did her job in the conversation just by doing that.

I love that she became a Christian. I prayed for her as I enjoyed her book sharing her experience with the worst of Islam.

Whenever someone says something along the lines of: 'Christianity is based in an immoral idea of a person free from sin being punished for the sins of others' my response is: 'yes, that's the entire point. You're on the right track. Keep going!'

Miss Ali is a baby Christian; I would not expect her to have different answers than she did and I was very moved by her the sincerity of her heart and her choosing Christ. We should pray for and love her and pray for her growth as a Christian.

New Christians, hum. I came to Christ when I was 65. I have studied the Bible for 7 years now; exhaustively. My answer to Jim Dawkins would have been dramatically different at 65 from now at 72. I’m not condemning her, I’m just saying she probably doesn’t have the answers to those kind of questions yet.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

She is a newborn Christian. She has chosen to believe in God and His son, Jesus Christ. We need to show her grace, and love and pray for her protection and continued walk with the one we call Lord, Jesus Christ. If God had wanted to say anything else through her at that time, He could and would have. All in God's perfect timing. 👌 🙏💜✝️✌️

Dawkins refuses to debate William Lane Craig. Enough said.

Hi Nate! First I want to thank you and the Lord for what you are doing. I'm in an environment right now where I don't have many mentors and instructors in the faith that are wiser with more experience. Your channel has, at least in part, filled in that gap and praise the Lord for it (I'm still young and I've still got a lot to learn).

I think the reality of this debate is that it's not a debate. It's a discussion between old friends being sold as a debate. (This might have been better as a Pastor reacts but nobody knew better haha) It seems to me that Dawkins is genuinely taken aback that Ali has "switched sides" so to speak and Ali is only just coming to terms with her transformation.

It also seems to me that Christianity being "beneficial" in culture is actually a piece of observational evidence that is informing Ali that Christ might just be the Way the Truth and the Life. Is it all there is to Christ's Resurrection? Not by a long shot, you are right and I think Ali has some studying to do. BUT, I do think when a culture, strongly based on the moral teachings of the Bible allows for a society to flourish (at least to an extent) and bear "better fruit" than without the Bible, I think it CAN be considered evidence for Christ as King. Much biblical teachings thus prove themselves good for humanity which in turn lends credence to the biblical worldview being true. So in a nutshell, Ali is noticing (on top of a personal experience with Christ, seemingly) that biblical truths match up with truth of the human experience (sin, good and evil, hypocrisy, pride, love, kindness, wisdom...). And granted, it's a piece of evidence that doesn't match well with a debate with Dawkins but it is evidence nonetheless.

Ali is not debating here, she is back to basics, humble as a little child, admitting that she's not 100% sure, wrestling with the new heart of flesh she just received. And we pray that the Lord will give her what she needs.

Feel free to disagree!

I tbink she expressed her stance clearly: she is new to Christianity and is still exploring what the truth is. I can look at a painting and appreciate its beauty, concluding that it was created by an intelligent designer. This claim—that the painting is the work of an intelligent designer—represents a truth. However, I might still find it challenging to fully grasp the essence of this intelligent designer. Maturing in faith involves not only recognizing the painting and its intelligent design but also understanding the deeper meaning behind that design.

The problem is that, God exists outside of simply just our understanding and observable universe. We might be able to see signs of Him, and evidence that He exists in some capacity. We can philosophically reason that He exists in SOME form... But without His revelation of Himself to us, we cannot learn who He is. If we reject His revelation of who He is, we can at best, only see a silhouette.

As a new Christian, Ayaan handled herself very well to Dawkins probing questions. It's great to see that even when you see noticeable differences between Ayaan and Dawkins, that you can also see warm feelings towards each other as well. A heated yet caring debate. Amazing

No this was not a debate but a conversation. I think Ayaan as she expressed multiple times did not want to have the conversation that Dawkins pushed for. From how I have heard her speak on it after, that is because she finds faith a very personal thing, and does not see her message of one of sharing the gospel. I think she has had a real conversion but it is too new to have studied all the things Dawkins wants to talk about. I also do not think most people come to the faith logically, but in humility and need so I do not even fault her for just sharing her experience, because I think that is what she has to offer a skeptic like him.

I think she will solidify and maybe in a year or two would be able to answer all of Dawkin's points more objectively, but she is not a debater, and did not want to talk on the subject in the first place.

I will love to hear her position in a year or so later. Someone this smart - if she has really accepted to believe - would really dislike not being able to have sharper daggers to get through the debate. To hear her talk with some of the established debaters and intellectuals for Christianity would be awesome as well.

Seeing many of these more noticeable intellectuals moving towards Christianity as the correct base of culture is incredible and to see more of them truly accept Christ as their savior would be an amazing shift in humanity.

23:50 The Moderator is a very smart fellow. I've watched his Unheard channel and he is quite thoughtful and polite.

What do I think about this? I think that i am tired of people who are perhaps on the journey to becoming Christians or who are "baby" Christians that happen to be higher profile individuals for unrelated reasons being placed in the role of an apologist to defend Christianity against professional Atheist debaters. There are so many powerful arguments for Christianity, but these people are clearly not (or at least not yet) the ones to articulate them.

For some reason every time your “please subscribe” clip pops up, I think the video is ending. Maybe it’s the tone or something, but it always makes my brain trip out
