I had been taking Bible notes for about 20 years and by that point I was preaching and I was also learning after finishing seminary. You never stop learning. I do like that you take notes - so many people do not and they miss out on so much. So, to begin with I did exactly what you are doing here AND I also noted on my note page and in my Bible the main passage and the date it was preached on and who preached it. That became important later. So, winding up with literally over 50 binders - I had to do something - so I set up a file cabinet and organized it into 2 sections - one section has all the books of the Bible. This is where I file notes when a pastor is talking about studying the book of Genesis or Hebrews or like right now I am teaching on line about Romans. The other section in my file cabinet is about topics - demons, angels, ark of the covenant, Holy Spirit, salvation, fruit of the Spirit, etc. Things that do not fit into a particular book of the Bible but rather come from a sermon or teaching that covers a lot of different Bible verses go here. Even things like magazine articles wind up in my files. Someday, they are going to make a preacher a very happy person. Glad I'm not the only one that takes notes lol. I usually just write in a notebook so it stays in there :). Just awesome when I go over the notes later that night (actually just went over today's notes on run, wait).

I used to have a pastor that put a section in the Sunday bulletin for sermon notes. It had the sermon title, related scripture references and blanks for us to fill in with important points. Kinda spoon fed. It definitely was an organized way to take notes. However, it didn't keep me from having a very colorfully highlighted, underlined and note filled bible :o) You have a great system and I need to incorporate it into my haphazard way of note taking ;-D Hope you're feeling better!
