The following reports will suffice for any sincere Shia to realise that Shia narrative on Muawiyyah (RA) has been false. These reports are taken from an authoritative Shia source that state that Hassan and Hussain (RA) both gave ba’yah (pledge of religious allegiance) to Muawiyyah and accepted him as their Imam/Khalifa. The Taqiyyah argument doesn’t work here because giving ba’yah to a kafir is kufr and Hassan would never place the entire ummah into the hands of a kafir/munafiq. 176 - جبريل بن أحمد وأبوإسحاق حمدويه وإبراهيم ابنا نصير قالوا حدثنا محمد بن عبد الحميد العطار الكوفي عن يونس بن يعقوب عن فضيل غلام محمد بن راشد قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله (ع) يقول إن معاوية كتب إلى الحسن بن علي (ع) أن أقدم أنت والحسين وأصحاب علي فخرج معهم قيس بن سعد بن عبادة الأنصاري وقدموا الشام فأذن لهم معاوية وأعد لهم الخطباء فقال يا حسن قم فبايع فقام فبايع ثم قال للحسين (ع) قم فبايع فقام فبايع ثم قال قم يا قيس فبايع فالتفت إلى الحسين (ع) ينظر ما يأمره فقال يا قيس إنه إمامي يعني الحسن (ع)

177 - حدثني جعفر بن معروف قال حدثني محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب عن جعفر بن بشير عن ذريح قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله (ع) يقول دخل قيس بن سعد عبادة الأنصاري صاحب شرطة الخميس على معاوية فقال له معاوية بايع فنظر قيس إلى الحسن (ع) فقال أبا محمد بايعت فقال له معاوية أ ما تنتهي أما والله إني فقال له قيس ما نسئت أما والله لأن شئت لتناقصن فقال وكان مثل البعير جسيما وكان خفيف اللحية قال فقام إليه الحسن فقال له بايع يا قيس فبايع.
