Before you buy a new battery, disconnect the current battery for about a minute or two and a press the on/off button for about 15 seconds. This will clean out any power that is in being held in a capacitor and after the battery is re-connected, this should allow you to have full function of your speaker once again. Luckily that's what I did, because I was about to buy a new battery and these are worth about 50 bucks and there was never anything wrong with my current battery. This would be the equivalent of a hard reset of a computer. Best of luck.

Warning - On my charge 4 there were screws holding the mesh cover. Only one side can be pried up at first. Remove these screws or you will break the cover. After removing the screws, pry very gently when removing.

what should you do if the speaker does not recognise the battery? it turns off 2 seconds after you've switched it on

Warning: I broke mine on step 1. 1/2 the outer sleeve is held down with screws the other 1/2 pops out as shown in the video with the pry bar :-(

Btw when replacing its battery make sure to get one that says model ID998 or else it won’t even work

My speaker wouldn’t power on or charge. I had left it out in a cold vehicle for too long. I held the power button down for a minute and then it started working fine again. Didn’t need to unplug or remove anything.

The new battery that was put in the speaker, which is sold by Amazon, is it original from JBL?

кайф, спасибо, получилось заменить, но при сборке остались лишние борты, прокладка и крышка не подходит))) буду ждать помощи какого нибудь друга, может кто то сможет доделать. вывод: лучше носить в ремонт

On mine, the protect tive tape is worn out, so I have to use electrical tape
