JBL CHARGE4 - BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Must watch, if you don't want to damage the speaker!!! I show how to replace the battery in the JBL Charge4 Bluetooth speaker.
It is not that old yet, and i don't expect too many people to have an issue with the battery, but the day will come one day or another.
I am prepared to help you out! If you have a Charge4 you better subscribe, so you find my video when you need it.

Where do you buy the new battery? I don't know yet, but i think Ebay or Amazon are places to start with, or you just make your own battery. The speaker has a simple 18650 based battery pack. I like that.

Well done, thanks! In my case, as the speaker didn't turn on I thought battery is broken. After dismantling it and pull of batterie connector, I measured good nominal voltage. I put it back and a miracle happens - it works again. I guess removing power was a kind of reset for it. Anyway your video helped a lot for understanding the procedure. Greets

Can the cells be chaned ? Does the battery pack have inside a BMS ? or the BMS is built in the speaker board?

I have the same issue that many people seem to encounter where the jbl turns on and right off again. I figured out my original battery is SUN-INTE-156, where my new batteries are SUN-INTE-118. Maybe that causes problems. I cannot find a 156 battery anywhere though, which sucks. Any ideas for how i can make the 118's work?

Curious to see if it would be possible to use higher rated cells, like a 3500mah 10a 18650, 3p1s and increase the battery life that way.

Any chance of squeezing in 3 21700 without the foam?

Besides 7500mAh is 2500mAh per cell, upgrading to Samsung 3500mAh should give a nice boost.

I bought 2 different batteries for changing it, both times the speaker turn on and off right after it. Despites the battery charging and having charge. Where else can be the problem ?
