JBL Flip3 Battery Replacement (How to DIY)

This video explains step-by-step how to replace the battery of the JBL Flip3 wireless Bluetooth battery.
In case you battery does not charge anymore or the speaker does not last for a long time, it may be time to replace the battery. A new battery can be found very cheap online. The process is easy and can be done with minimal tools and knowledge.

I just performed this repair this evening. Your instructions were very clear and the video gave a very good perspective on seeing where things were. I added two tools to the mix. First, I used a small flathead screwdriver to hold up the grill as I was initially peeling that off. That helped give a little lift/leverage. Second, a small pair of needlenose pliers was helpful in pulling away the cut glue and putty, as well as to pick up one or two of those very small screws. Thanks for making this video. It felt good to be able to repair something rather than having to buy a new one. Hopefully it charges and I'm good to go!

Pay attention to the length of the machine screws as you take the Flip 3 apart. The passive radiator machine screws are slightly longer than the machine screws that hold the body parts together. If you try to use the longer screws on the body parts they bottom out before they snugly hold the parts together. As you remove the screws during disassembly consider labeling where they came from. It still was an excellent DIY video with great closeups of the disassembly and reassembly.

Great video, managed to replace my battery - thanks! I had several screws with stripped heads that wouldn’t budge and I had to break off the plastic case around them - so if anyone is thinking of attempting this maybe see if you can actually take your Flip apart first before you buy the battery.
