New Shadow Generations Deleted Scene Has Me Confused

I think it's quite simple. The Black Arms have a collective consciousness, with Black Doom as the leading mind. After his death and the destruction of almost all the Black Arms, his mind must have taken over that Larva left in the Ark. Which began to grow and take the form of Black Doom again.

Maybe it has to do with that Black Doom larva that was held in a capsule 50 years ago flashback in episode 2. Maybe Black Doom grew from that larva since it is a part of Black Doom. Also in the Shadow manga there is a scene when Doom’s eye is seeing the Maria incident taking place and is standing menacingly behind the GUN soldier who shot Maria

During one of the Twitter Takeovers, Shadow stated that Doom's Eye was still alive. So, Sega was building up to this for some time.

I have a theory on how black doom returns. This is based on only stuff we know for facts from the games and dark begins. In dark begins we see that there is a larva on the ark. We know that the black arms have a hive mind. Black doom was the leader of the hive mind so there had to be a new head. My theory is that through the hive mind and his own chaos powers he was able to mutate that larva into a new body that he then took over. Bonus theory, both shadow and black doom have chaos powers so maybe by warping time just before the time eater ate everything is how they ended up in white space. Basically what happened in sonic prime to shadow. But hey, that’s just a theory, A GAME THEORY!!! Thanks for reading

The Black Arms are a hivemind species, could very well be that once Black Doom was defeated, it was merely his present body. As long as the Black Arms exist in some form, Black Doom is sure to still be around

We didn’t see him transform into devil doom so maybe like dooms eye he was just controlling it and after it was defeated he just went into hiding? It would make sense especially considering that game was the last time we were even on the ark

Maybe Black Doom was resurrected by that larvae from part 2. Kind of like Mothra from the Godzilla series being reborn with all their memories and experiences

I think black doom was the first thing that team eater brought to the future... maybe some tests that Eggaman was doing before implementing the real plan

My only guess, and take this with a grain of salt, is this. I think when Eggman finds the Time Eater after 'Colors'. He gets sent back to the past and finds his past self to help him control the Time Eater like he had mentioned in Generations. However, I think Eggman and Classic Eggman went back to the present to experiment with it until they decide to use it against Sonic and everyone else, which would kind of explain on how Eggman has information on the thing to being with and how Rouge got that intel as well. And maybe at some point, one of the experimental tests they are conducting goes out of control which might've accidentally brought back Black Doom from the past. I could be wrong, but that's the theory I'm going with for now...

@SonicHub The answer is already shown in the animation series, when Shadow is on the Ark, he is looking at one of the Black Arms larva that is in the containment chamber and so, it's safe to assume that in the 50 years that has passed, the larva has grown and the larva was from Black Doom himself and that is why the Black Arms threat is back again, since the Larva was on board the Ark the whole time and had been forgotten about.

Don't forget, when Shadow was first released from Prison Island by Robotnik in SA2, Shadow knew who he was, etc, but he had been in forced sleep for so long that he had forgotten a lot of his past and his problems of fragmented flashback memories of what Maria said before Amy Rose's pleas to Shadow to help Sonic, etc, finally triggered him to fully remember what the real promise was Maria asked of him to keep.

Shadow has been plagued with amnesia issues throughout the Sonic games that he has been featured in, even in Sonic Heroes he had forgotten who Sonic, tails and Knuckles were until thear the end of the game story plot.

I would guess that the Sonic X Shadow Generations game would probably fit in the timeline of either just before or just after Sonic Generations game, but I suspect just after because the Time Eater was still attatched to the robotic contraption that Past & Present Robotnik's used to control the time eater.
