➡*Team-VERSATILE :*
has a large list of abilities that would make them overpowered except that their abilities are easily punished and they must manage resources.... TLDR: strategic build, more you've memorized, the easier they are

➡*Team-RISK-REWARD:*
And another with a simplified moveset of 2 or 3 key abilitites (Sonic, Dante, Ryu, Megaman X, Knight) that is not punished as harshly but requires perfect timing in order to meet the level of proficiency of the 1st type. TLDR: lowest barrier to entry, but no ability to become overpowered, even if youve memorized the level/boss

For an ability idea that is intrinsically weaker and more versatile than Shadow's....There's a gold mine of potential in the fact that sonic moves his actual legs faster than anyone else. Friction based abilities, and air slices etc that consume 0 meter and are weaker and faster...

And I though base form Sonic taking on Perfect Chaos in the original "Sonic Generations" was crazy. But Shadow going 1-v-1 on Metal Overlord is absolutely nuts when you consider it took 12 heroes and 3 Superforms to take him down in "Sonic Heroes".

I love the fact that Shadow has gotten so strong that he doesn't need a super form to fight the metal overlord, just like how Sonic didn't need a super form to fight Perfect Chaos. Truly shows how far they've gone.
