Coming up with a great design for a kitchen rehab can be complicated. This free app (also can be a paid pro version) is a great tool!
In this video we used Room Planner - Home Design 3D from the IOS app store. The free version worked great for our purposes, but you can upgrade to the pro version if needed.
You can build a floor plan. Then add cabinets, appliances, flooring, wall color , even ceiling and molding changes. Then finish by adding room decor and you can get a really good representation of what your room could look like. The beauty of this tool is that you can dramatically change layout and design parameters on the fly so you can quickly visualize new ideas. You notice that the app is preloaded with a lot of items from IKEA. But not all items shown are available - you have to search on IKEAS web site to be certain.

The app does take a little getting used to at first but is worth the effort. I created the design using an Apple pencil but a mouse should work nearly as well. Creating the floor plan that your are renovating is a must. Then you can fill it with you ideas in 2D or 3D mode.

the kitchen we showed at the opening of the video is from our 1900 renovation. The house is about to get drywall and followed by a new kitchen! The actual design at the end of the video is our current best guess. Stay tuned!
