A common word problem that shows up on quadratic equations. I've seen similar picture frame problems on other exams.

I split the frame into four rectangles of area x-2, x-2, x+2, x+2 to give a total area of 4x. Everything else was the same as how you did it.

Even simpler, frame x3=x(x+2). You only get 10.
