Been around hvac since I was a kid. When I was little I would go in the crawlspace and did trenches for my dad and other guy's to go in. Nowadays I can't do that anymore. Im 37 My body is tired already. Bad back bad knees arthritis is kicking my butt. Last month working with Crescent wrench taking a gas line loose my right hand/wrist pop/crunch now I can't do much work with it. Its not broke but something is not right. First doctor wouldn't do a mri so im going Tuesday to see another doctor hopefully get some answers. Been a ruff couple weeks with the cold spell with service calls and installs with a messed up hand. Sorry for the long post. Merry Christmas

Retired from hvac after over 30 years . Not looking back and dont miss it. And yes I have dug a few holes. Lived in a few 120 degree attics. I have the body to prove it.

Health wise I am hanging in there. Unlike my hair which no longer hangs on my head as much as it does on my pillows, couch, shirt and everywhere else I go. Pain is manageable now without painkillers except for nerve pain which is not as bad now as it was. I am in a waiting game at the moment. Taking my chemo and in January or February we will see if the treatment is working when knew scans and tests are ordered. Thanks Zack for thinking of me. Bojangles here is not the same as bojangles there. We don't have the pulled pork which was my favorite lunchtime meal.

I’ve been watching your stuff for like 5 years now. About when I took over my family business at 18. I’m 23 now and been doing service install and admin and tell me self and my wife there is no way I can do this for another 40 years. I don’t know how my 87 year old grandfather who still scraps all our stuff has done it for over 60 years.

I’m twenty rate now but to be honest will be a technician for the next ten years. I will either become inspector or sales. Company owner makes the most but hard to be with family any insite would be good I also have a hvac licence and a collage diploma

Thank you Zack. Your right it breaks your heart, chews you up and spits you out. Noone lays on their death bed thinking I wish I had fixed more air conditioners. Just remember to put your health and safety above your job or employers demands. Advocate for yourself and the people you love. Put Politics aside and love each other. Like body count sang in their new hit comfortably numb, "If god can see this shit we would make him sick" or something like that. I still don't believe but it does speak to where we are as a society. Yall should listen to Ice T and his bands remake on a pink Floyd classic.

I'm kinda a jack of all trades. I can fix anything. I started out working at a young age, everything from lawn care to working on small engines, vehicles, auto body, appliances, and even welding before I got into installing then to tech. I think I enjoy repair better than anything. I have dug several trenches to get equipment and duct installed. I have swung a sledgehammer all day to knock out block and rock walls to get duct installed. I sure don't miss those days lol
