This disaster could have been avoided if they had used Solar Freakin' Roadways.

God it's so remarkable how calm everyone sounds. I can't imagine not panicking when something like this happens.

4:23 'looks like we got about 18 minutes left'
the dignity in the way he says this is unbelievable

The madman's done it, he's finally built a cubic meter to retire the 15 year old jpg of the elementary schooler sitting inside of one!

This was an amazing video, great explanation and it got very tense as the events unfolded!

I was 17 when this happened and I remember it well. During the 60s, space travel was something new and exciting and I used to get up early in the morning to follow what was happening on TV. This had the whole world holding its breath and it was such a relief when they finally splashed down. Its so sad that we have lost interest in what is an amazing accomplishment.

An hour long Thunderf00t video of something he's passionate about? Getting the pop corn ready

New Tf00t video: "Cool I'll watch that later" looks at length: "an hour-long apollo 13 vid? yes, 3:30 am is an appropriate time to watch this."

There's something facinating about calm, cold, calculations on how and when you're gonna die.
That was a fucked up trip.
Thanks!

The calmness of their voice is astounding. They sound so calm, but you can still hear the intense fear that they have. You can hear how they know, they very well may die.
I cant even begin to imagine that kind of stress and overwhelming fear, the strength these men had is unmatched.

When I noticed the video length I was worried it would feel long but now I can't wait for more.

Experience has taught me that blending and pouring 10 people into a cube is far easier than simply squeezing them really tight.

Years ago I was fortunate enough to meet Jim Lovell and Gene Kranz. Jim's "Apollo13" book is well worth a read.

Thunder foot has mastered the art of making a well researched video as if he is just explaining things casually in conversation

It's one of the things that's always terrified me about the prospect of space travel: just how fragile life can be, and how there's absolutely nothing you can do if something goes catastrophically wrong. With ships there's the prospect of swimming/lifeboats, and with planes there's the possibility of having a parachute...but in space? You're just dead.
