If Harkon wins in Skyrim and beats the Dragonborn in the Dawnguard DLC then Skyrim would end up ruled by Vampires. Serana would not be impressed!

Imagine being able to side with Harkon, making Serana the final boss

I think the “bloated sun” we see is more of a magical thing than just realistically blocking sunlight.
Even when you do throw the arrow there is still light, it’s not as dark as nighttime. So i suppose crops and wildlife would continue to exist to some extent.
Even Serana and Valerica who are against this plan do not mention the crops and wildlife dying, they just mention everybody would go against the vampires if he does it.

Imagine a union between the empire, stormcloaks, aldmeri dominion, and every vampire hunting faction in Tamriel just knocking on harkon’s door one day 💀

*Valerica:* _"If eternal night fell, there are many who wouldn't stand for it. They would raise armies in attempts to return things to normal. The order of the day would be our destruction until every last vampire was hunted down and eliminated."_

The gods of Tamriel would probably intervene if the vampires “won”. Because it would mean that once again the Daedra threaten the world.

Dawnguard ranks would suddenly swell. Meridia herself would also likely take great ire with Nirn being ruled by undead vampires. Every empire in Tamriel would likely put aside their differences, realizing no one benefits from infighting and Castle Volikar would probably get wiped off the map

The Ebony Warrior still claps Harkons cheeks. Don't worry boys he will get his by the Nines.

I'm sure someone will defeat him, whether it be the Ebony Warrior, Alduin, or Ulfric Stormcloak. Harkon is powerful, but there are others who wield a greater power.

You would think Blackreach would've been a vampires paradise.

The existence of life in Black Reach pretty much discounts the "killing the sun kills Tamriel" theory. Yeah, it might be cold, but Vampires are undead and resistant to Frost

It might not cause crops to die if it's only blocking out the higher wavelengths of light. It's still letting the red wavelength through, and that's where most plants absorb most of their energy from.

Listening to this makes me realize that all Vampires are doomed no matter what.

Line from parody of Skyrim called The Senile Scribbles: “…not my fault you’re following this stupid prophesy” “I-It isn’t stupid…” “oh really, let’s see you’ll take away the sun which will kill all the plant life which will kill all the animals and then all the humans and eventually kill all the vampires?” “Wait wait, can you say all that again, but slower” … or something like that, it’s a beautiful parody love the guys parodys in general.

Harkon didn't think things through that far; if all the mortals die, _what the fuck is he going to eat?_

I wish there was a 3rd option to this dlc a dawn guard that allowed vamps and were-beasts and helped those who wanted a cure/to control them selves since there not all evil just all the ones we run across apparently

As Valerica says, there would almost certainly be intervention by the outside world, but what really matters is that exceptionally powerful organizations such as the Psijic Order or the Imperial Elder Council would likely intervene, against which Harkson stands absolutely no chance.

Theres actually a mod about Harkon Winning in Dawnguard. It gives you a time limit and if you dont complete the dlc, you get a special game over. You cant play AFTER he wins but still. It's called "End Times of Dawnguard" on nexus mods (a spinoff mod of "End times" which does the same for the main game)

But what does Auriels Bow actualy do? Does it close the whole into the Aetherium (aka the Sun) or does it overcast it?
