🙀 Secret Phrases of a Khajiit Thief in Skyrim #skyrim

I spent over two thousand hours to figure out that the thief you meet on the road reacts differently depending on whether you are a member of the Thieves Guild or a Nightingale. If you meet the thief while wearing Nightingale armor, instead of attempting to rob you, he will say a special line. There is another dialogue if you are wearing Thieves Guild armor during the encounter. In this case, the thief will not try to rob you but will give you 5 lockpicks right away. However, for some unknown reason, I couldn't get this dialogue in the game, so I extracted it from the game files.

He also has different dialogue if you are master of the thieves guild and returned it to its former glory

This guy ran up to me and called me brother, gave me lockpicks, and ran away.
I WAS SO CONFUSED. I had never met him before, just some random dude.
Years Later I discovered this short and now I understand.

I like how thieves in tamriel looks like a brotherhood/mafia. They respect each other, but still do immorally source of income

I was wandering around in my nightingale armor the other day and saw him just running towards me so I started preparing for a fight, all just for him to give me 500 gold

Also if you are wearing the Gray Cowel of the Nocturnal, then that will also trigger the 5 lockpicks.

I had this guy show up while I was fighting a dragon.

He saw a dude in full dragonbone armour, shouting full three word shouts, and casting master level magic _while fighting a dragon_ and thought, "Yeah, I can take him." *And interrupted the fight to threaten me.*

The fact that he was all "I'm not scared of you" when I told him to oiss off... well, I supposed that tracks 🤣

There’s also a bug in the thieves guild quest line to make Mercer Frey a permanent follower (not sure if it’s fixed).
When I got to the tomb to face Karlia, I got side tracked and progressed through the game like normal.

After some time I went back to finish the Thieves Guild quest line, but Mercer wouldn’t start his action of picking the locked door. Nor did I have the choice to send him away to restart the mission, being unkillable (a quest line character) I used him to help kill Alduin😆
