Tesla damaged after getting stolen from Houston parking lot

I drive by the dealership everyday and it’s a weird location for a dealership. High crime area and it’s part of a shopping strip. The dealership is definitely responsible for the damages.

I have been scouring the internet trying to find out "how" the car was stolen. How were the thieves able to drive the car away? I know if you have a service schedule, the car goes into service mode where you don't need a key, as soon as you reach the geo location set by the dealership, but why would that be active if the dealership is closed. If anyone knows the how, please let me know so I know what not to do if I ever get towed.

Tesla only has factories, repair facilities and showrooms. It’s not a car dealership.

Thats fucked up. Tesla should be the responsible for the damage that happen with the car since its in their responsibility when it was stolen

I think the problem here is Tesla didn’t take possession of it. It was towed there, but if they’re closed they haven’t received it. Regardless of it being on the parking lot. I’ve never told a car to a dealer after hours. Somehow it seems better when they’re there to receive the car. That doesn’t mean they probably pay for it. Pretty much all dealers reject repairing a consumers car. Doesn’t matter what manufacture. All manufactures of the same they’re looking out for their insurance rates and their cost of doing business. It sucks I can’t even imagine but I suggest everyone bring their car in when they’re open. Granted some manufacturers dealers have security at night.

I get the same mistreatment from Tesla. They are losing loyal customers, myself included. I believe this is my last Tesla.
