That part of the Cascades is brutal country. I truly feel for the Marines and technicians who will have to ruck into the crash site and then find all the classified stuff. They're gonna be there for at least two nights, minimum, and it's cold as Hell out there with snowfall expected.
And, of course, I still maintain hope for the aircrew of VAQ-130, their families, friends and comrades.
I'm a veteran myself so I'm not gonna sugar-coat this... I maintain honest hopes the aircrew will be recovered alive and well. But I have a very bad feeling about this. I'm pretty sure the rest of my comrades in Club DD-214 feel the same way.
Nevertheless, I hope everyone involved in whatever way will accept the sincere regrets of an old cavalryman. A humble tip of the Stetson in acknowledgement of your pain and worry.
