I’d love to see a video on how different styles age, like black and grey vs watercolor etc. Not a lot of info out there like that. Great video, your tats are dope and I think they’ll actually look even better with age!

Sailor Jerry did 3 of my tattoos in 1964 so that would be 60 years ago. Outside of losing some of the red they don't look much different that they did new.

Want to get my first tattoo soon. Thanks for the information, I was always a bit confused about how the aging stuff works and scared that I just have a blob there in 30 years.

I work in a care home and had a man in his 80s he was pretty thin but his tattoos still looked very nice for a 80 year old. They been on shoulder blades and arms the colour was dulled

My oldest tattoo is around 8 years old, its a coloured tattoo, blue and brown and some shading, i noticed the small numbers in my tattoo the size of a grain of rice started fading a little. I guess i should rework these details when this tattoo becomes 10 years old. probably should do that to all my tattoos also when they reach that age. i am exposed to a lot of sun in summer BTW. Hope someone shares his experience with ageing tattoos ... i'm planning on doing another full sleeve tattoo this year and will be considering what to put in it given the ageing factor is a remarkable thing to consider.

My oldest tattoo is 12, and my second is 10 years old. The 12 year old one is a black heart with a purple peace sign in the middle. The purple mostly faded, and some of the black faded out and could use a touch up. It’s on my hip so I think the wear is mostly from the rubbing from my underwear and pants. It’s my least favorite and I’m getting a consult soon for lazering it off. I hate how it looks when I wear a bathing but other than that no one sees it besides my husband but I definitely regret the placement.

The 10 year old one is on my hand and surprisingly looks just like it did when I got it, just a softer black (it’s a lotus). When I left the shop the owner said it might need a touch up because hands often do, and I was going to go back for a little touch up but got pregnant and then by the time I remembered too much time passed. But it honestly looks fine as is. I’ve grown to love it more over the years.

Both of mine are cover ups of diy stick and pokes I gave myself in high school. I have my first “real” tattoo planned for the beginning of fall. I’m nervous, hence why I’m watching this video lol
