Sauradeep Majumdar from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne shares about finding promising nanomaterials for energy applications through a diversity-driven search.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are nanomaterials with wide applicability due to their advantageous properties. Realizing how MOFs underlie popular approaches to tackling climate change, chemical engineering PhD student Sauradeep Majumdar wanted to identify the types of MOFs most suitable for energy-saving applications. In his Young Scientist Presentation, PhD student Sauradeep Majumdar discussed building a database and using computational techniques like machine learning to determine the best MOFs out of the millions of possibilities for carbon capture.
