GYSS 2023 Young Scientist Presentation - Adolescent friendships & their association w mental illness

At the final Young Scientist Presentation of the day, University of Oxford PhD student Tanya Manchanda discussed the association between adolescent friendships and mental health. As adolescents – defined as being between 10 to 24 years of age – contend with physical, emotional, and social changes, they are particularly vulnerable to mental health problems. Her study aims to inform the creation of novel mental health interventions in authentic adolescent social groups.
