Useful handwarmer for extreme conditions in exceptional circumstances. But I'm not taking a clay pot with me. I prefer the little gel ones that you can reactivate after use by giving them a boil.

You still haven't done it properly, you're supposed to use 2 pots, the inner one has the hole plugged, and the second pot needs to be inscribed with a passage from the necronomicon which you need to recite in latin with the candles arranged underneath in a pentagram, so you can open a portal to hell. My God, man, even with this being the third video it's like you're not even trying to do things right.

I appreciate your video testing this and I don't understand why it worked so well for me, and not so well for you.
I can tell you, that when I was stuck in the ditch. I could put my hands over it and it was like a toasty little campfire.

2:40 If the temperature outside has dropped but the temperature in the van remains a constant 3 degrees, doesn’t that indicate that it did heat the van somewhat? I’m not saying that a terracotta pot has magical properties (maybe *any* arrangement of 3 candles will heat a room a tiny bit), but if you present scientific measurements and a scientific conclusion, you have to consider these factors.

I came across the idea of a candle-flower pot heater after watching a British WW2 homefront film about preparing a bomb shelter, which recommended such a device to keep a family warm overnight until the raid danger was lifted. What confuses me is that if this device is as ineffective as these tests suggest, why would they have recommended it in a serious wartime situation? I just find it difficult to believe they would suggest something on a whim if it didn't work. Were they just oblivious to "bad science"? Or was it simply to boost morale?

What you appear to have illustrated is further proof of the placebo effect on some folks. Thanks for doing the work to prove what I had felt to be the truth. Stay warm the most effective way you know and it looks that candles and pots has nothing to do with that!!

i say your top saucer is too large...it needs to be smaller than the bottom one.

Looks like the candles are being regulated down by lack of oxygen. They wont give off as much instantaneous heat but will burn longer.

I think you should try with red candles. White ones are obviously not going to be as warm, as white is such a cool colour. Have you no knowledge of basic Youtube science?

Obviously you STILL are not making it right. First you have to turn the pot over, pour in black powder to the half way mark, fill it with gasoline, then plug in a hair dryer turn it on and throw it in the pot. [PSA: that was sarcasm, do NOT do that!!!]
